About Us

Lucy and Grace Lang were born nine years apart, with two brothers in the middle, to an artist mother and actor father.  Lucy is a lawyer and public servant, and Grace is a mixed media artist.  Both sisters are educators.

Lucy is the Director of the Institute for Innovation in Prosecution at John Jay College, where she writes and speaks widely about criminal legal reform, and teaches those issues in New York State prisons.  She has published in the New York Times, The Atlantic, the New York Daily News, and many others.

Grace's artwork has been exhibited in galleries from New York City to Beijing.  She creates and facilitates fine art-making workshops for children, incorporating wellness practices.  Amongst others, she illustrated curriculum for the Your Self Series, which provides self-identity and wellness curriculum for teachers, parents, and social workers working with teens.

The Langs come from a long and continuing line of powerful and creative women.
